YACHTPORTSA SALDANHA SMALL CRAFT HARBOUR. 1st June

Yacht anchorage off Suldahna Bay YC

The predicted bad weather arrived last night with wind recorded at 135km per hr. and heavy rain. Fortunately we made the decision to move to the small marina SE of the anchorage at Yachtport SA. This is a repair facility with a tiny but lovely marina attached. They have a 100 ton travel lift and a huge shed for repairs and painting. It's only 2 years old and has lovely facilities although it is remote and there is no Taxi service in Saldanha.30 01.36S 17 57.39E

Small fronts have moved through today bringing rain and occasional hail with odd patches of blue sky. Tomorrow is predicted to be worse and Monday although improving will still have remnant high seas. The swell is forecast to reach 8M. We will stay put until the wind swings SE.
